Replacement of bearings on Kaplan turbine and valve

In a hydroelectric power plant equipped with Kaplan turbines, bronze and elastomer bearings presented critical problems.

Tassitech replaced most of these components with Victo HiL bearings, offering a homogeneous, dimensionally stable material with high load capacity.

On the Kaplan turbine guide bearing:

• no material swelling
• tolerance maintenance
• seizing prevention
• smooth and safe operation

Victo HiL bearings were also installed on critical valves, where the low coefficient of friction enabled:

• to eliminate vibration problems
• to prevent sticking
• to ensure stable and precise movement

Result: significant improvement in the mechanical stability of equipment, reduced risk of blockages, and increased reliability of strategic components in the power plant.
